Dogra Art Foundation Founder Honored in the New York State Senate

The Dogra Art Foundation is proud to announce that its Founder, Dr. Vikram Dogra, was honored in the New York State Senate by Senator Jeremy Cooney during a special ceremony commemorating the 79th Independence Day of India.
To accommodate the schedules of the participating dignitaries, the commemorative event was held in May 2026, ahead of India’s official Independence Day celebrations in August.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Vishal Harsh, Deputy Consul General of India, who joined Senator Cooney in recognizing Dr. Dogra’s outstanding contributions to promoting South Asian art, cultural heritage, and community engagement through the Dogra Art Foundation.
Since its establishment, the Dogra Art Foundation has connected people through art by preserving and promoting the rich artistic traditions of South Asia. Through museum partnerships, public art initiatives, educational programs, lectures, exhibitions, and cultural outreach, the Foundation continues to foster cross-cultural understanding and inspire communities across the United States.
Accepting the recognition, Dr. Dogra expressed his gratitude to Senator Jeremy Cooney, Deputy Consul General Vishal Harsh, and all those who have supported the Foundation’s mission. He reaffirmed the Foundation’s commitment to expanding public access to South Asian art and strengthening cultural dialogue through meaningful collaborations.
