Art, community, and connection come together at King’s Bend Park
October 10, 2026 | Pittsford, New York
For Vikram and Nalini Dogra, collecting art has always been enriched by the chance to share it. That spirit found a permanent home today at King’s Bend Park, where community members and civic leaders gathered to celebrate the unveiling of Terrafly, a gift from the Dogra Art Foundation to the Town of Pittsford.
Created by internationally acclaimed Indian sculptor K. S. Radhakrishnan, the 16-foot bronze sculpture captures freedom, movement, and human aspiration. Set beside the park’s pond, with surrounding seating and plantings, it offers a welcoming place to pause, reflect, and connect.
The unveiling brought together family, friends, neighbors, and supporters to celebrate art’s ability to bridge cultures. A ruby-red sari was drawn away to reveal the sculpture, marking the beginning of its life as a shared community treasure.
For the Foundation, this gift reflects a simple conviction: art can help people understand one another and feel more connected. It brings the Foundation’s mission, “Connecting People through Art,” into a public space for everyone to enjoy.
The Dogra family’s generosity, collaboration with the Town of Pittsford, and the contributions of Popli Design Group and the installation team made the project possible. The Foundation extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped bring this vision to life and to all who joined the celebration.
WXXI News and News10NBC covered the dedication, sharing the story of Terrafly and its message of community connection with a wider audience.
