Current Projects

We are pleased to co-sponsor Avinash Kumar to come to Rochester, NY in May 2024 to participate in upcoming featured Hurlbut Mural Project at Memorial Art Gallery (MAG). As a part of this project he will be painting street art in the Hurlbut Gallery and will also take part in the street art project of city of Rochester, NY in collaboration with Ian Wilson. The inauguration of the project is scheduled for May 6th at 10 am at the Memorial art gallery and Senator Jeremy Cooney has consented to be the Chief guest.

Annual lecture : “Bridging Continents: Exploring South Asian Art.”

This initiative is proudly co-sponsored by the Memorial Art Gallery (MAG) and the Dogra Art Foundation.

The distinguished occasion is scheduled for April 27th, 2024, commencing at 2 p.m., and will be graciously hosted in the illustrious Memorial Art Gallery auditorium.

The inaugural speaker is Dr. Madhuvanti Ghose, Alsdorf Associate Curator of Indian, Southeast Asian, and Himalayan Art, Arts of Asia at the Chicago art institute.

During the pandemic we were very pleased to sponsor and excellent presentation by Sonya Rhie Mace, George P. Bickford Curator of Indian and Southeast Asian Art on “A Talk on Painting Exploits of Krishna in Pre-Modern India”. This was a collaboration with Indian Community Centre Professional Forum and Hindu Temple of Rochester, NY. This presentation was attended by many eminent people from Rochester, NY it was streamed live on YouTube and Zoom for those who could not attend in person because of COVID-19 restrictions.
